Gentle, Personalized Dentistry Builds Trust and Beautiful Smiles!
As a dentist, I love being able to help others in a compassionate manner, making them feel like family.
One of my favorite parts of dentistry is having the ability to change patients’ perceptions and ideas about what to expect during a visit. Many patients are apprehensive about seeing a dentist, even putting off necessary care for years. I listen to each patient, asking about their concerns and prior dental experiences, in order to understand where they are coming from and their worries. I am not at all judgmental and know the better I understand the person’s situation, the better I can tailor care to them.
Using a gentle, patient, and compassionate approach, I strive to provide a relaxing and pleasant treatment experience. In doing so, I hope to establish trust with my patient, as they learn I am here for them, sincerely concerned about their health and happiness.
Education and Experience
I have always been interested in the medical and dental fields. When I was in college studying pre-medicine and needed routine wisdom teeth removals, I was offered an internship with the oral surgeon. This allowed me to learn about the hands-on aspects of dentistry, along with ways to connect with and reassure nervous patients; I instantly fell in love and the rest is history!
Before becoming a dentist, I completed the following:
- Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, University of Delaware, 2006
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD), University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University), 2011
- General Practice Residency (GPR), Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ, 2012
I was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society in 2011. That year I also received the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award and the American College of Dentists, New Jersey Section Award.
After completing my GPR in 2012, I entered in private practice. I truly treasure what I do and thrive on the friendly relationships that natural develop with my patient family.
Constant Learning and Professional Affiliations
I love being able to bring new and changing treatment options to patients, and to share with them the latest developments in dentistry.
Each year I take numerous continuing education (CE) courses, covering a wide range of dental topics, to broaden and strengthen my skills and understanding. Through CE, I stay up-to-date on the latest techniques, materials, and technologies. This ensures my patients are offered the best treatment options possible and receive the best possible care, with predictable, beautifully healthy, and functional results.
I am an active member of the:
These professional organizations offer regular CE through meetings, seminars, lectures, and online courses and webinars. They also publish a number of peer-reviewed journals and other periodicals. I love learning and take advantage of every opportunity to expand my knowledge.
Outside the Office
I grew up Lebanon, NJ, and moved back to the area, to Annandale, several years ago with my family. My husband Brian and I have been happily married for over five years and we have two young kids, Mackenzie and Carter. As you might imagine, the little ones keep us busy!
If I’m not in the office, chances are I am enjoying time with family and friends. I do set aside time for the gym, as I enjoy staying healthy, and always look forward to the summer, when I’m spending as much time at the beach as possible!
